Robert E. Hickey Jr., a partner at Thompson Hine & Flory LLP, has been named interim assistant vice president for public affairs at Wright State University, effective Nov. 1. "Bob Hickey brings multifaceted experience with state government and a broad network of associations throughout Ohio to this public affairs position at Wright State," said Wright State University President Kim Goldenberg. "We are delighted to welcome him."

In his new position, Hickey will report to Marcia Muller, vice president for university advancement. In the Ohio House, Hickey's committee assignments included chairing the Civil and Commercial Law and Public Safety and Highway Committees. He also served on the Finance and Appropriations, Financial Institutions, and Judiciary and Criminal Justice Committees. In January, Hickey will become chairman of the Board of Trustees of Good Samaritan Hospital.
