Welcome
to Wright State University's Online Music Service
2007/8 Services Available Starting September 1st
WSU will be launching the fourth year of Napster online music service in the fall to provide
legal streaming and downloadable music.
Students living in the University's on-campus housing are provided with
the Napster service at no charge. Non-resident students and employees may opt-in
for the service.
Napster offers several features and benefits including:
- Unlimited streaming from Napster's digital
library of over 3 million tracks
- Unlimited local downloads for listening
without being connected to the Internet
- Access to interactive, commercial free
radio stations
- Permanent downloads—to burn to CD
or transfer to any of 60 portable music devices - for $0.99 each or
$9.95 for an album
- Customized play lists to share with friends
In
order to provide our students with the most robust, usable service Wright
State has also implemented a Napster caching server on the campus network.
This caching server manages streaming and download requests from
users on the local campus and residence hall networks, providing improved
access times without utilizing University internet bandwidth.
