James Ritter Werner, adjunct faculty in organ, studied at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he received his doctorate in 1972. Werner completed his post-doctoral work in organ with Allan Wicks at the Canterbury Cathedral in England.

Werner also earned a M.A. in theological studies from the United Theological Seminary, where he is currently the music director and lecturer in church music.
