Aaron Jacobs is currently pursuing a Master of Music Performance Degree in Wind Conducting at Wright State University. He is the Director of the Wright State Raider Pep Band, and a Graduate Assistant conductor of the WSU Wind Symphony and Chamber Players. He served as co-principal trumpet of the WSU Wind Symphony during their Carnegie Hall tour in May 2013. Jacobs is currently performs on trumpet with the Wind Symphony, Chamber Orchestra, Trumpet Ensemble, and Brass Studio Ensemble. His principal mentors are Dr. David Booth and Professor Daniel Zehringer.
Jacobs served for three years as the Band Director at Herman K. Ankeney Middle School in Beavercreek, OH. During this time, he oversaw an increase in participation the 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands. All grade levels participated in OMEA Large Group Events, and received superior and excellent ratings.
Jacobs graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Education degree from The Ohio State University, and performed with the OSU Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Men’s Glee Club, and Trumpet Ensemble. During his time at OSU his principal mentors included Professor Timothy Leasure, Dr. Russel C. Mikkelson and Professor Richard Blatti.
