DR. DREW COLLINS holds a dual appointment in choral studies and music education at Wright State University (Dayton, OH), where he conducts University Chorus, Chamber Singers, and Women's Chorale, and teaches courses in choral music education and non-western music. Prior to this appointment, he held a similar position at Augustana College (IL), and taught in the public schools. He has served as Artistic and Music Director of the Festival Choir of Madison (Madison, WI), Tempus (Boston, MA), Trinity Concert Singers (Boston, MA) and Choir of the Lakes (Minneapolis, MN). He has served as editorial consultant for four choral music publishers, two of these as Senior Choral Editor. He was repertoire forum columnist for Choral Director Magazine for seven years, and is now on the editorial board of Triad, the periodical of Ohio Music Educators Association. He has also published reviews in Choral Journal and teaching guides in Teaching Music Through Performance in Choir. Collins is a published composer, arranger, editor and orchestrator. His works are found in the catalogs of publishers such as Curtis, E. C. Schirmer, Earthsongs, Hal Leonard, Kjos, Mark Foster, Odhecaton, Roger Dean, Santa Barbara, and Walton. His choral music has been performed by major choral ensembles across the United States. Each year, new works of his are premiered, including several commissioned pieces. Collins criss-crosses the country each year as guest conductor, festival conductor, clinician, coach, and producer. He has conducted honor choirs at the local, district, and state levels. He has toured as a conductor domestically and internationally, and has head-lined in Carnegie Hall. He has presented to professional conventions at the state and national levels both by application and invitation. He has served as artistic advisor or consultant to choral organizations in California, Minnesota, and Ohio. Dr. Collins holds degrees in music education, composition, and conducting from Concordia College, Boston University, and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. www.drewcollins.com
