The Fisk Jubilee Singers are once again coming
to Wright State! Under the direction of Paul T. Kwami, the Fisk Singers
continue to travel extensively, performing for diverse audiences including
adults and children in the United States and Europe. Financial support
has come from Pfizer, Inc., the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Phillip Morris,
First Tennessee Bank, The Links Foundation and The Links, Incorporated,
General Alumni Association of Fisk University, Curb Records, educational

The blens of humor, charm, elegance, flawless intonation, rarely heard homogeneity, and unwavering vocal virtuosity have left audiences delighted since the emsemble's debut in 1992. Concert Hall, CAC The concert will feature music, poetry and art from the Harlem Renaissance a period of artistic creativity of African Americans in the 1920’s and 30's in Harlem, New York. Music performances will feature spirituals, blues, and jazz performed by members of the Paul Laurence Dunbar Chorale and guests. The concert will also feature the poetry of Langston Hughes, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Claude McCay and others. Images of art and famous musicians of the period will highlight the program. The concert is free and open to the public. |
