Winteregg Named Dean at Cedarville University
Dr. Steven Winteregg, was named dean of the College of Humanities at Cedarville University in the summer of 2007. Dr. Winteregg is a graduate of Wright State University School of Graduate Studies; he received his Master of Music in Music in 1979. In 1974, he was named the Outstanding Music Alumni.
Dr. Winteregg also holds degrees in music from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and The Ohio State University. He studied composition with William Steinohrt, Gregory Proctor, and Thomas Wells.
Dr. Winteregg has received dozens of awards in composition; he received the Raymond Hubbell/ASCAP Award, and, for the last sixteen years, a Standard Award in Composition from ASCAP. He also received Individual Artist Fellowships from the Montgomery County Cultural Arts District and the Ohio Arts Council, a Music Citation from the Ohioana Library Association, and an Ohio Senate Resolution commending him for his contribution to the arts in Ohio. Most recently he received First Prize in the International Trumpet Guild’s 2002 Composition Competition and was a Semi-Finalist in the 2003 Sackler Music Composition Prize Competition. He is the composer of three full-length ballets, the most recent, America’s Robin Hood, was premiered by The Dayton Ballet in April, 2003.
