Certificate Programs

The Department of Urban Affairs and Geography offers two graduate certificate programs that build upon and complement the MPA curriculum. These certificate programs provide students with training in their chosen fields to enhance their professional development in concert with the Master's degree.

American Humanics
Certificate in Nonprofit Administration

Students with a professional interest in nonprofit management may pursue a nationally accredited certificate in nonprofit administration from American Humanics. For specific information concerning the requirements of this certificate, visit the WSU chapter of American Humanics.

Geographic Information Science Certificate

Students with a particular interest in geography and/or public planning may pursue Certification in Geographic Information Science. Offered by the Department of Urban Affairs and Geography, this certificate program requires successful completion of five specific graduate courses, which may be taken as MPA electives, and production of a portfolio comprised of projects and research reports completed as part of this coursework.
