In addition to the programming and events that LEADER creates to assist in promoting institutional change in the partner institutions, LEADER assists in creating initiatives designed to promote a positive workplace climate while encouraging individuals to excel in their chosen fields.
Maintaining a balance between work and family can, often, also mean that more than one member of the family are working. Whether in the Academic field together or in mutually exclusive careers, understanding the policies at each institution and knowing what is available for the spouse or partner in question helps open the door to keeping the balance.
Equity Advisors are liaisons between department faculty and institutional agents. They may assist with faculty searches, share best practices, and coordinate networking opportunities while assisting individuals with their professional concerns.
Regardless of one’s profession—within or beyond the academy—people can benefit from the experience and guidance of others in moving their career goals forward. Mentoring and coaching are two options for addressing professional development needs.
