Campus Business Enterprise Center. Registration for the following non-credit courses is currently
underway at the Lake Campus. There are no prerequisite requirements.

Fall Workshops 2007:
OSHA 10 (SkillsTrac Basic Level Class)
This three day class is open to all who are interested in learning more about OSHA rules and general safety guides. Students and/or companies interested in starting or fulfilling one component of the SkillsTrac Advanced Manufacturing Training may also take this class offering which completes 12 hours of the 24 required for professional development.
Call Carol for information on open enrollment non-credit classes which will fulfill the Print Reading and/or Professional Development requirements of our new SkillsTrac Advanced Manufacturing Training Basic Level I traditional course offerings.

MICROSOFT WORD
This one night class will help you become truly proficient in Microsoft Word. You will learn how to use the drawing and formatting tool bars along with using shapes and WordArt. Learn how to use text boxes, how to make a drop cap, and all the other design elements that are available to you in Microsoft Word. For best results, class students should be familiar with word processing and have a minimal knowledge of Microsoft Word.

BUSINESS FINANCING SERIES
This three-session workshop deals with utilizing financial information to make the best possible business decisions. The workshop will start by teaching participants how to help your business by learning about financial feasibility and financing operations. You will then work with cash flow projection forms, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc. You will learn how to effectively project sales, fixed, and variable expenses and be able to read spreadsheets with this information. You will then be ready to successfully plan your Return on Investment (ROI) with our return on investment model.

COMPUTER BASICS
This four-week session will help you become more comfortable with a computer. We start with Windows XP. . .learn how to navigate the desktop, create files and folders and much more. Next you will learn Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint in the 2003 Microsoft Office software suite. All classes will deal with the basics and will focus on maintaining or improving computer-usage skills. You will have input in how much time is spent on each part of the software package.

QUICKBOOKS
This workshop will review various means of data entry for accurate record keeping. You will learn to set up and use this popular accounting tool. Participants will be instructed in: invoice and statement preparation, inventory tracking, payroll,and financial reporting. The class accommodates beginning users and veteran users who want to learn more about what the program can do for their business. All participants completing the 12-hour workshop will receive a certificate.

Seminar (NEW Dates)
We can help you maximize the potential of your new business
by "Starting Right." Learn what steps are required
to borrow money, how to write a business plan and what tax
and legal issues will affect you. You will receive a "Starting
Right" packet with various forms and information
to help with the start-up process. Free individual counseling
sessions are available after attending the seminar. **Starting Right classes only take place when there are registrants. Individuals wanting to attend the Starting Right class MUST PRE-REGISTER.**
We recommend all new business owners take this class before receiving free individual counseling.

DIRECT-DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEMS (Introductory and Advanced)
Both of these one-week courses are designed to work together. First is an introduction of HVAC personnel to the concepts of computer Direct Digital Control systems. The second week will deal with more complex concepts regarding DDC systems. Individuals who attend the introductory seminar should have a good background in HVAC systems and conventional (pneumatic and/or electronic) control principles. Attendees to this seminar can expect to gain a good theoretical and practical working knowledge of the operations of DDC control systems. You will receive a certificate upon completion of each course.
