Almost two hundred nurses, teachers, counselors and law enforcement attended The Operation Street Smart Program on May 10, 2012. They were given up-to-date narcotics information on trends, terminology, paraphernalia, and physiological effects. Two current undercover detectives, who possess over thirty-five years of combined narcotics experience, conducted the presentation. |

Incoming engineering students spent a few hours on campus learning about the program they are getting ready to start. They spent their visit learning about the program including co-op and internship opportunities as well as a simulated class on C.A.D. |

A film crew from the Discover Channel were on campus in April to film Dr. Chuck Ciampaglio, Associate Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences. He will be on a show that will be aired this summer. Dr. Ciampaglio is known for his expertise on the Megalodon, a giant prehistoric shark. |

On Monday, April 23, 2012 the Lake Campus hosted Dr. David Sundersingh for a Sustainability Awareness Forum. The presentation for Lake Campus students, faculty, staff and community members marked the 42nd Earth Day Celebration, which begin April 22, 1970. During Dr. Sundersingh’s presentation, he provided various facts and statistics regarding the need for humans to preserve the Earth through the economy, society and environment. |

Engineering students have built a robot known as the "Crimson Chaos." They have participated in several competitions this past spring. Other engineering students are working on creating an airplane for competitions as well. Read an article about the students on The Daily Standard's webpage. |

In May of 2012 Dr. Dennis Bulen, Assistant Professor at the Lake Campus, organized a Criminal Justice Fair. Students were able to talk with agencies about employment opportunities and job requirements. |

In 2012 the Western Ohio Educational Foundation is celebrating its 50th year of incorporation. The Board will be having events through out the year to celebrate. |

Setex, Inc. has created two $3,000 scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded to two area high school seniors. One will be for an engineering major and one will be for a business major. |

The 32nd annual Scholastic Bowl was held in March. Over 40 teams participated in the event. Bowling Green High School won the large school division competition. |

Campus apartments were completed in the fall of 2011. Students are moved in and there is still room available for the 2011-12 academic year. Applications are also being accepted for the 2012-13 academic year. The apartments consist of 4/5 bedrooms, 2 bathroom and an open living area. |

St. Marys F.O.E. Aerie 767 awarded twelve $900 Continuing Education Scholarships to Lake Campus Students. Every year over $250,000 is awarded in scholarships to new, returning, current and transfer students. Applications for the 2012-13 academic year are due February 15, 2012.

Friday evening, June 10, Wright State University – Lake Campus held its 39th Commencement Ceremony in James F. Dicke Hall. Degrees conferred upon the 204 members of the Class of 2011 included 65 associate degrees, 80 bachelor’s degrees, and 59 master’s degrees. |

Wright State President David R. Hopkins presented Presidential Commendations for Excellence in Co-Curricular Activities to students. Business Professionals of America (BPA) Team Members Sheila Goins, Michelle Fleck & Amanda Fleck were recognized for their achievements during the 2010-2011 academic year at the state and national BPA competition. |
