A Message from the Dean
Welcome to our Lake Campus website!
Wright State University’s Lake Campus is a wonderful place to be. There are friendly and helpful staff, highly qualified and exciting faculty, engaged and active students. Our campus is evolving and changing as opportunities and challenges confront us. It continues to be an exciting time at the Lake Campus.
We have an array of student organizations and athletics – did you hear about our men’s baseball team winning our league’s championship? Go Lakers!
We recently introduced our newest bachelor degree, the Bachelor of Technical and Applied Studies (BTAS). This is a degree completion program that will appeal to individuals who already have or are close to completing a technical or applied associate degree. Come see what this degree might do for you. In addition, more new courses, programs and degrees will be developed this academic year. Stay tuned!
The mechanical engineering program with a manufacturing focus continues to be a success and we are excited about the many opportunities for our students, faculty and local industries that are engaged in this endeavor. Agriculture, graphics and law enforcement programs as well as technical classes are providing much-needed and requested academic options. The Lake Campus provides a full array of general education coursework for students pursuing bachelor's degrees. And, by the way, the Lake Campus has eight bachelor's degrees that can be obtained totally here in Celina.
Officer Tyler Pottkotter joined the campus last year as our full-time police officer. He is part of the WSU Dayton Campus police force but is assigned full-time to our location. We appreciate his presence and his assistance with emergency training, safety issues and improving the general safety of our campus climate.
Lucas Miller is the full-time Community Director for our resident housing, Knapke Villa. He lives in the Villa and provides support, guidance, and assistance to those living on campus. And speaking of housing – you should see the beautiful units, right on the Lake. A second building will soon be a reality.
Read enough to intrigue you? Come for a visit and say “hello.” We would love to see you.
