A Message from the Dean
Welcome to our Lake Campus website!
The Lake Campus of Wright State University has undergone a great transformation during this past year, completing a massive $9 million renovation and expansion project that has revamped our facilities with new and refurbished classrooms, new science labs, and the 300-seat Dicke Center, a multipurpose room for both University and community use. We have new classroom furniture, paint, and carpeting--a complete overhaul of our campus, and we've added lots of new student study spaces and lounge areas throughout.
And the transformation continues! We are revamping our Learning Center (formerly called the Library) to include study and meeting spaces, plus more computers for research and writing.
In addition to those physical changes, we also continue to add to our curricular offerings. This fall we have started the four-year bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and we are working on doing the same for criminal justice. The Lake Campus now houses the Grand Lake Law Enforcement Academy, a full-service training program for future law enforcement professionals, and we plan to addEMT training to that academy as well.
What's next? Well, we are working on the building of on-campus student apartments, something we hope to be able to have ready by fall 2010.
Please drop by the Lake Campus to see all these changes. I guarantee you'll be surprised and pleased by all that has happened. It's great at the Lake!
