Policy Information
Because of the rising costs of new textbooks, the Cottage Bookstore attempts
to obtain as many used books as possible. Used books are obtained from 2 main
sources: wholesalers, and students who sell their books back at the end
of the quarter. The books purchased from students are priced at 75% of the cost
of new.
When selling your books back, you will find that several factors influence the
price you will get, including: if the book will be used again, if newer editions
are out, the condition of the book, the national demand for the book, and the
current stock on hand.
Buyback is conducted at the end of each quarter, generally beginning during
finals week for books we will be using the next quarter. We also buy year round
for a wholesale company in Chicago.
Refunds are given for the first ten days of each quarter. You must have your
receipt. New books must be unmarked. Credit card purchases will
be refunded to the credit card account.
Every attempt is made to have books in stock at least 2 weeks prior to the beginning
of a new quarter. If we have not received title information or if enrollment
is low, books may not be available the first week of classes.
We do not carry textbooks for classes at Wright State's Dayton campus. We do
carry text for select off-campus courses.
Charges are available for students receiving WIA, BVR, BSVI, or VA-Voc Rehab. The
bookstore must have paperwork or vouchers verifying the charge before any purchases
can be made.
