Application Process

When the Office of International Admissions (WSIG) receives an application, the process is as follows:

Application packet is sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to upload the application onto the mainframe

Applicant's file is sent back to the WSIG to start application process

Acknowledgement of receipt is sent to applicant via email

Documents in the file are reviewed, GPA calculated, credentials evaluated and a decision made

Decision is communicated to the applicant via email and followed up by mailed admission packet.

The above described process may take up to 2 months. If upon reviewing the application the admissions officer requires more information the candidate will be notified via email.

Decision and Notification

All required documents must be completed and on file before an admission decision will be made. Inquiries about the status of an application are answered only to the applicant through email at intgateway@wright.edu with the ID number in the subject header. This ID number will provided to the student via email only after the application has been uploaded onto the mainframe.

International Transfer Credits 

The transfer credit process consists of two steps.

First step: Completed at the admission assessment stage. Admission officers determine which courses were completed with a grade equivalent in U.S. GPA of C or higher. Qualifying courses are posted to student’s account only when official transcripts are received. An official transcript is a paper document with all original seals and signatures or a paper copy certified by the corresponding issuing school official (Principal, registrar, Ministry of education, etc.)

Second Step: Completed after the student is admitted and meets with an advisor. Student must submit course description including the following information:

  •   Course name and number
  •   Course detailed content
  •   Name of instructor
  •   Term completed. Ex. Summer 2012
  •   Number of hours
  •   Textbook used

No credit is generally offered for the following:

  •   ESL (all English course taken outside of an U.S. institution is considered ESL)
  •   Practical subjects
  •   Courses completed at technical schools
  •   Single religion courses
  •   Upper level courses (major specific)
