Important Notice to International Students
Based on the recent Executive Order, we are recommending that all international students reconsider any travel plans abroad during the Spring/Summer semesters 2017. Although this Executive Order does not apply to all countries, there is significant confusion at US Ports of Entry and we do not want our students to be negatively affected by this ban. If you still need to travel abroad, please email askucie@wright.edu or contact Jonathon Henderson at (937) 775-3291.

Tax Workshops for International Students & Scholars
According to US - F1/J1 Visa regulations, every International Student who did not earn any US income during the year 2016 must file a tax form #8843 (to Internal Revenue Service – IRS).
June 15th is the deadline for all the international students (who were present in USA even for only one day and did not receive any USA income in the year 2016) to file their 8843 tax form.
The UCIE has scheduled Tax workshops for this Tax Season from February 1 2017.

ICE Valentines Day Dance Party
The International Cultural Exchange (ICE) is theming this year's ICE Valentines Day Dance "A Celebration of What We All Love" .

Hear from an immigration lawyer, Welcome Dayton staff, and a civil rights investigator on what your rights are as an international students in America today.

Community Forums on Executive Orders Impacting Immigration
Join the Welcome Dayton's Community Forum on the New Immigration Orders Impacting Immigration.
Come learn about the recent Executive Orders that have impacted immigration, including travel to the US, refugee resettlement, and increase in immigration enforcement. Immigration attorneys Jessica Ramos and David Larson will present information about the recent court ruling regarding the travel ban and will be available to answer any questions you may have!

Graduate students, be sure to bring all original semester mark sheets as well as your provisional certificate/degree certificate and anything other documents that were outlined in your admission letter.
Undergraduate students, please remember to bring your high school transcripts, any college transcripts you have, and any other documents that were outlined in your admission letter.

OPT Deadline Information
If you are an international student graduating in spring 2017 semester, you may start applying for OPT on February 6, 2017. Please use the link below to access and complete all required documents for the OPT application. If you have additional questions after going to the UCIE website you can either email your questions to me or come to a walk-in session. Walk in hours are held on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 1030-1130 am and Monday & Thursdays from 200-300 pm. Additionally, there will be group OPT Q & A Sessions that begin promptly at 10:30 am on the following Tuesdays: Jan. 31, February 14, 28, March 14, 28, and April 11, 25, 2017. On the following Mondays group OPT sessions will be held on: Jan. 23, February 6, 20, March 6, 20 and April 3, 17, 2017. They will begin promptly each day at 2:00 pm.

Please stop by at any of the times listed above. The final date for spring 2017 graduates to submit application materials for OPT is June 15, 2017.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have any reservations regarding potential graduation for spring 2017 semester, please do not apply for OPT until after semester end grades have been posted.

Florida Paddle Spring Break Adventure
Explore Florida on your spring break with Campus Recreation. Camp and hike near natural springs in beautiful Ocala National Forest while kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, and snorkeling boarding the local rivers, lakes, and Atlantic Ocean.
When: Saturday, February 25th-March 4th

Fee: $450 per person ($100 deposit to register)
Cost includes Trip leaders, all paddling equipment, kayak lessons, surf lessons, meals on location, all permits, camping fees, and transportation from WSU in 12 passenger van.

Grand Canyon Backpacking Trip
Challenge yourself over spring break backpacking 29 miles through one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. This trip includes 5 days and four nights in the canyon with a rest day at the bottom to enjoy the magnificent Colorado River.
When: Sunday, February 26th-March 4th
Where: Arizona
Fee: $450 per person plus plane ticket. ($100 deposit to register).
Cost includes Trip leaders, transportation on location, all backpacking equipment, meals on location, park fees and permits, and 2 nights in a hotel.

Great Smoky Mountains Campout
Experience the beauty of the mountains. Camp inside the National Park and hike the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Fee: $150 per person
Fee includes Trip leaders, all camping equipment, meals on location, all permits, camping fees, and transportation from WSU in 12 passenger van.
