Dan Young is just as comfortable with an ice cream scoop in his hand as a balance sheet. Although he's the CEO of Young's Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs, his business card simply says "Chief Ice Cream Dipper." He has helped build the family-owned and operated business into the top local attraction in the Dayton area, drawing 1.4 million visitors annually. Whether it's for dinner, mini-golf, petting the goats or picking a Christmas tree, the family is always welcome at Young's.
"Working on my M.B.A. at Wright State helped me understand that we're selling 'fun', not just food," he says. "I now use strategic planning that I learned at Wright State." Young recently developed a special ice cream flavor in honor of Wright State.
