Feature Alum:
Rick Wegmann
1982 M.B.A.
CEO, BusinessLabs, Dayton, Ohio
"I always knew that I would be an entrepreneur."
At the age of 13, Rick Wegmann helped his older brother by operating an IBM 1130 computer for his service bureau business. "His passion for running his own business put me on the entrepreneurial path."
Years later, Wegmann and his partner Stephen Solch, also a WSU alumnus, hatched a plan over lunch that created the company eventually known as BusinessLabs. The information technology firm, with annual sales over $6 million, provides Microsoft Business Solutions for both commercial and military customers. Wegmann's M.B.A. classes helped launch the company toward success. "I was able to apply the classroom experience to solving 'real world' problems in my work life," he says. "My M.B.A. has served me well."
