Feature Alum: Christine Wallace
1977 B.A., 1981 M.B.A.
Vice President of Customer Services, Teradata, a division of NCR, Dayton,
Ohio
"My business world revolves around customer delight."
A 23-year veteran of NCR, Christine Wallace's ability to remain
flexible has aided her transition from finance and operations to a sales
leadership role to her current position. As vice president of customer
services for Teradata, a division of NCR, she directs nearly 700 people.
"With some of the biggest customers in the world, it's not
good enough that they are just satisfied," she says. "Their
delight with our solution is really what keeps us on the edge."
Wallace's results-oriented style reflects the technical skills
and practical applications she says she learned at Wright State. "They
know what it is really like in the work world - you've got to perform,
to deliver, to work in teams. That's the kind of pragmatic approach
Wright State teaches."
Favorite WSU Memory: My husband and I were grad assistants with
Robert Sweeney in the college of business. That year was the best ever.
We had so much fun together. Robert was the best man at our wedding.
He is probably one of the funniest human beings I've ever known.
Best Advice: From my parents... "Don't do anything that
you wouldn't want splashed on the front page of the Dayton Daily
News."
