Feature Alum: Jeff Schmitt
1976 B.S.B.
Owner and President, Jeff Schmitt Auto Group, Fairborn, Ohio
"I'm the luckiest guy in the world because I am doing
exactly what I want to... right where I want to do it."
Schmitt was first steered into the car sales business when he was 14 and a family friend said he could have her '57 DeSoto if he could get
it running. He did, and then sold it for $75. Today, he's in the driver's seat of Fairborn's
oldest established auto dealership as owner and president of the Jeff
Schmitt Auto Group.
His former partner and friend, Jack Huelsman, helped set
Schmitt on the road to success and Wright
State helped him navigate. "Wright
State taught me how to manage
people," he says. The company won
General Motors' prestigious Genuine
Leaders Award for sales and service,
an honor he credits to his team of 104
employees. His children, Stefanie and
Jay, are now on the road to success,
too, as current students at Wright State.

Future Plans:
To keep doing what I am doing
forever, for as long as I can do it. I'm not someone who is looking forward to retiring.
I have waited so long to get to this point that I want it to last as long as possible.
