Feature Alum: Gail Littlejohn
1976 M.S.
President, Dayton Public School Board,
Dayton, Ohio
"I like to take on challenges that others think are impossible."
Gail Littlejohn likes a good challenge. During her 18-year career with LEXIS-NEXIS, she started a government affairs office in Washington, D.C., and developed a database of code files of every state legislature in the country. Today, she's tackling the issues of a large urban school district as president of the Dayton Public School Board. "My vision is that every student graduates with the skills to get a good job, go to college, pursue his or her dreams."
In her quest, she also marshals the strengths of the community by serving on the boards of several community organizations, including Wright State's Board of Trustees.
"At Wright State, I learned how vulnerable children are and the unique way they have of expressing themselves.
It's something that has stayed with me to this day."
