"Be willing to be a change agent."
Bonnie Langdon thought her future was set when she started her master's program at Wright State. Her goal: earn a Ph.D. and teach at the university level.
But a class she took from Professor Bela Bognar changed all that. "He was so passionate about gerontology that by
the end of the quarter, I knew I wanted to work with older people," she says.
Today she is president and chief executive officer of The Maria-Joseph Living Care Center, a 440-bed elder care center
with 600 employees. "I'm honored to be part of a team that has made a difference in the industry," she
says. Langdon also believes in giving back to the community. She is a former chair of the Dayton Area
Chamber of Commerce and serves on Wright State's Board of Trustees, the Ohio Board of Examiners of
Nursing Home Administrators, and the Board of the Omega School of Excellence.

Future Plans:
When I retire someday, I expect to continue to work in the field of aging because I truly love it and don't want to leave it.
And, I will probably do like everybody else does and become a consultant. I have visions of forming my own consulting business.
