"Wright State empowered me to play the game of life."
As a high school football star, J. R. Harding, Ph.D., embraced fully the game of life.
But a devastating accident presented an unexpected game plan: life as a quadriplegic.
Today Harding, who enjoys scuba diving and water skiing, serves as a role model
and advocate for people with disabilities. A presidential appointee and a
partnership specialist in Floridašs Office of Vocational Rehabilitation,
he works nationally and statewide to level the playing field for others
with disabilities.
"Wright State was a nurturing environment to explore who I am, despite my special
issues. Having gone to three different universities and traveled the world from
my wheelchair, Išm still amazed at the standards of independent living WSU offers
someone with special needs."
