Feature Alum: David Gasper
1978 B.S.B.
Founder and Chairman of the Board,
Gasper Corp., Beavercreek, Ohio
"We keep 20 percent of the world's ATMs online."
David Gasper is like a modern-day Wright brother. Like Orville and Wilbur, he is a visionary who solved a problem many others could not. Back in the early '80s,
Gasper anticipated the popularity of ATMs and solved the problem of keeping them online. Today, the Gasper Corp., headquartered in Beavercreek,
provides tracking and management software for ATMs worldwide.
"I remember my calculus professor, Tapas Mazumdar, used to be really tough on us," Gasper says. "That experience of being pushed to excel is what
helped me make my business so successful." The Gasper Corp. is now a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of NCR Corp. with more than 90
employees, who Gasper credits for much of his success. "I'm living the American dream," he says.
Best Advice:
"Always push yourself to the
limits, see how far you can go,
and don't be satisfied with anything less. If you don't try to push yourself to the limits you are cheating yourself."
