Feature Alum: Michael Di Flora

Electrical Engineer, The Home Group, Dayton, Ohio
"Engineers don't run around wearing pocket protectors anymore."
Engineers are among today's top innovators. Look at Michael
Di Flora. During his 22-year career as an electrical engineer, he acquired 12 patents and two New Product Awards for leading a team that designed and produced the first ozone-friendly air conditioners. Now he's improving the quality of Dayton's neighborhoods through a company he founded, The Home Group, which buys and restores older homes.
He also counts among his accomplishments a Wright State scholarship he established for female engineering students. "I learned the value of team work and mentoring at Wright State. Now, I want to give talented women a chance to make their mark too."
