Feature Alum: Kevin DeWine
1996 M.B.A.
State Representative, Columbus, Ohio
"I really want my four boys to be able to look back
at my career and be proud."
State Representative Kevin DeWine's interest in elective office was piqued nearly 30 years ago in elementary school when he helped place campaign signs for his second cousin (and now U.S. Senator) Mike DeWine's campaign for county prosecutor. Before entering politics for himself in 2000, DeWine had a rewarding career working for a Dayton-based company, but to achieve his goals, he knew he needed a Wright State M.B.A. "Wright State has a great reputation in the business community," he says.
DeWine and his classmates didn't just read case studies about fictitious companies, they were assigned projects doing meaningful work for real companies in the Miami Valley. He still keeps in touch with many of his classmates who also are succeeding in their careers. "That speaks volumes about the quality of Wright State," DeWine says.
