In 1987, Ron Bullock acquired Bison Gear and Engineering and since then the company's sales have more than quadrupled.
Bison, located in St. Charles, Ill., designs and manufactures electric gear motors that are used worldwide. Ever ride
the London Underground? A Bison motor operates the turnstile that gets you through to the train. With sales in Europe on
the rise, Bison is now setting its sights on Asia.
Bullock believes his engineering degree at Wright State played a prominent role in his success. "Engineering is an excellent
foundation for problem solving in any field," says Bullock, who serves on the Engineering Advisory Council at Wright State.
"My technical background is a tremendous asset for seizing opportunities not only in the United States, but in the global
marketplace."

My son is currently Bison's vice president of engineering, and we're beginning to look at succession planning.
I recently bought the Circle B Ranch in Montana, and I'm looking forward to spending more time up there and
working on a new hobby‹fly-fishing. I'm also restoring a 1946 Chevy street coupe, and still love to play golf.
