Urgent: Phishing Scam Notice-March 28, 2013

Faculty, Staff, and Students,
The Help Desk was recently notified of yet another phishing scam email that targets students, faculty, and staff of Wright State University. The message tells the reader that their Chase Bank account has been locked due to multiple logins from a fraudulent device. The reader is then instructed to click the link in the email to correct their account. Once clicked, a page comes up asking for a username and password.

Please note that this message is a scam and not an official notice from Chase Bank. DO NOT fall victim to this scam by clicking the link or entering your log in information.

Remember, banks or financial institutions will NEVER ask you for your account information via email or the web. If you receive a suspicious message asking for this information, report it to CaTS immediately. You can contact us by phone at (937) 775-4827, or send us an email at helpdesk@wright.edu.
