Information About RaiderMail for Faculty & Staff

As a faculty or staff member, you may have recently heard that CaTS has transitioned all of our student email accounts to RaiderMail, a service offered by Microsoft. One of the many benefits of this new system is the increased email storage space, which currently offers all students 10 GB each. Some faculty members have questioned whether they, too, will be able to use this email system and also receive those benefits, especially the increased email storage.

CaTS would like all faculty and staff members to know that we are currently in talks with the Academic Services Committee (ASC) and IT Committees on the feasibility of moving faculty and staff email/calendar to Microsoft Live, which is the same email system now being used by the students. Along with these talks, we are also working on developing policies and procedures that will address issues unique to a faculty/staff environment. Although an official decision has not yet been made, CaTS is hoping that we can begin moving faculty and staff to Microsoft Live as early as Spring Quarter.

CaTS will continue to notify the university as more information and details become available.
