The Center for Professional Education (CPE) at Wright State University offers an intensive Certificate Program in Cyber Security. The program is offered online and on-demand!

In this certificate program you will be provided theoretical knowledge and skills concerning both the technical and management aspects of cyber security. A hallmark of this certificate program is that students are prepared to take several certification tests, including Security +, CAP, and the coveted CISSP certification. The certificate program covers the following critical areas:

Foundations of Network Security (PSC 790)
This course covers real-world issues and practices of information security today. Students are not only prepared for the CompTIA Security+ exam, but also for critical security challenges they will face in the real world. This certification meets the DoD 8570 training requirements for IA Technical Level II and IA Management Level I. Students learn the importance of proper configuration, execution, construction, and troubleshooting of network security to ensure that threats are minimized or negated.

Security Risk Management (PSC 792)
This course equips students to effectively manage aspects of Cyber Security from an IT governance perspective by understanding the DoD, Federal, and IC information technology management goals. It establishes a consistent governance framework to categorize, select, implement, assess, authorize and monitor information technology that will enhance management of risks and information resources with positive returns on security investments. Students will learn the importance of performing security tests & evaluation, conducting privacy impact assessments, and performing business risk assessments. Additionally, they will learn how developing IT contingency plans, configuration management plans, system security plans, and network audits minimize security risks.

Secure Systems and Application Software Design and Development (PSC 795)
This course covers the methods used to specify, model and verify the secure architectures of computational systems. This course discusses architectures and products and presents an approach based on structured analysis for designing architectures that meet organizational requirements.
