Applying as an Internal Applicant
Classified employees may apply and be considered for any available position at Wright State. Employees who are still in their probationary period may apply for positions within Wright State provided the positions are in the same or lower pay grade.
Applying as a First Opportunity Transfer Applicant
Classified employees may apply and be considered for positions in their same classification series that are listed on the First Opportunities Bulletin Board website. When certain new or vacant positions become available, the hiring supervisor can choose to give first consideration to current, eligible staff before requesting referrals from the civil service eligibility list maintained by Human Resources.
To submit a request and receive first consideration, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be actively employed and on the Wright State payroll
- Hold a position that is in the same job series as the vacant position
- Meet the minimum qualifications for the position
- Pass the required word processing or spreadsheet test required for the position
Interim and emergency appointments and probationary employees may not apply.
