Employees covered by WSU's medical plans have prescription coverage through Anthem.

HMO/PPO Medical Plan Elections

Employees covered under the Anthem HMO or PPO Plans receive network prescription drug benefits through Anthem.

Prescription Benefits Co-Pay Structure

Drug – Max of 30 Days’ Supply Copayment at Time of Payment
Tier 1 $8
Tier 2 $25
Tier 3 $40


Drug – Greater Than 31 Day Supply (must use mail order) Copayment at Time of Payment
Tier 1 $12
Tier 2 10% of cost (minimum of $22)
Tier 3 10% of cost (minimum of $60)

High Deductible Health Plan Election

Employees who elect the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) pay Anthem’s discounted drug cost until the plan’s Network Deductible and Out‐of‐Pocket Annual Maximums have been satisfied. Then, the plan pays 100% benefits for all covered network expenses, including prescription drug costs, for the rest of the calendar year. Up to a 90-day supply of maintenance drugs are available through Anthem’s mail service pharmacy, Express Scripts.
