Position Summary: To initiate and develop an academic general surgery clinical practice at Atrium Hospital, Middletown. Both clinical excellence and academic/scholarly productivity will be essential activities. Education and Experience: Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program; Assistant Professor level candidates must meet required minimum job qualification requirements; Associate Professor level candidates must meet required minimum job qualifications, be Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and have at least 5 years experience at the Assistant Professor level; Professor level candidates must fulfill all the requirements of Associate Professor and have at least 5 years experience at the Associate Professor level. License to practice medicine in Ohio. Ability to obtain malpractice insurance. Certification by or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Surgery. Working Conditions: This position requires working at Atrium Hospital in Middletown, Ohio Note: Length of Appointment: Annually renewable, Auxiliary, Special Contract terms and conditions of employment apply. Position Description: Perform high quality General Surgery in the Middletown and Dayton areas as academic faculty of the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Develop Wright State Department of Surgery General Surgery at Atrium Hospital, Middletown. Scholarly activities such as submission to peer reviewed journals, presentation at local, regional and national surgical societies as well as membership in surgical organizations. Outreach Teach and supervise as appropriate medical school students and residents.
