 Assistant/Associate /Professor (2 Positions)

Education and Experience:   Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field ( anticipated completion by September 1, 2008), demonstrated research expertise in one of the areas of biorelated chemistry, energy, the environment and materials. A record of publications and external funding demonstrating a sustained, quality research program with a well-known (national) reputation of excellence commensurate with departmental by-laws criteria (for ranks higher than Assistant). One appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level the other at open rank.

Preferred: Postdoctoral experience

Working Conditions: Occasional exposure to chemical vapors, liquids and solids which may possess hazardous properties.


Position Description:  

Teach Freshman and add additional courses based on expertise. In addition, organize and supervise associated teaching laboratories.

Direct undergraduate and graduate level research in the area of expertise, write and submit research proposals seeking external research funding, publish and present research papers in peer reviewed journals and at scientific meetings.

Perform professional service at the department, local and national levels.
