Education and Experience: Candidates must have a doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related area and a record that warrants appointment as a full professor. This record must include excellence in both research and teaching, and leadership experience in program development and administration. Preferred: Preferred qualities include the ability to provide leadership in a cooperative, supportive collegial environment, experience with undergraduate and graduate programs, understanding and promoting ethnic and cultural diversity of students and faculty members, good interpersonal skills, and effective communication with scientific, industrial, and urban educational communities. Position Description: Oversee Department operations. Oversee programs. Teaching and research. Oversee personnel decisions. Facilitate and support research activities of faculty. Schedule and lead faculty meetings. Act as Department liaison.
