Position Summary: The Vice President for Advancement and President of the Foundation is responsible for working closely with the President, Board of Trustees, and the Foundation in executing the fundraising programs in annual giving, major gifts, deferred gifts, and campaign management. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution; show a successful track record in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors; have proven skills as a supervisor and mentor, organizing, leading, managing, and evaluating staff in a complex higher education environment; have demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and team building skills; possess strong Board and community relations skills; bring a background in strategic thinking and planning with effective outcomes, to assist in future planning for an emerging campaign. Position Description: Serve as head of the Division of Advancement, responsible for administration and budgeting. Oversee the advancement function on the main campus, as well as the WSU Lake Campus, supervising 5 direct reports and 30 indirect reports in the areas of development, alumni relations, and advancement services. Serve as a member of the senior leadership team of the university. Work with the President, Provost, Board of Trustees, Wright State University Foundation Trustees, alumni relations, and others internal and external to the university (individuals, corporations, and foundations) to execute fund-raising programs in annual giving, major gifts, and deferred gifts, including a major fund campaign. Lead and participate in the recruitment and training of volunteers. Assure that the President, senior administration, volunteers, and others are fully staffed for all major gift activity. Serve as President and provide support staff for the WSU Foundation. Maintain and enhance external relations with appropriate administrators, boards and constituency groups. Lead and participate in major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship as appropriate. Advise on the public schedule of the President, assist with arrangements for meeting and entertaining as appropriate, and track those who are invited to and attend presidential functions.
