Education and Experience:   B.S. in Life or Physical Sciences with 1 year previous laboratory experience required.

Preferred:  M.S. in Life or Physical Sciences.

Position Description:  

Designing, planning and performing original research in membrane protein structure laboratory; utilizing techniques such as SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, liquid chromatography, absorbance spectroscopy, enzyme assays. Recombinant DNA technology.

Analyzing and interpreting experiment data; developing new enzyme assays.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebooks which include complete details on each experiment performed; Up-to-date record keeping and easily accessible to supervision.

Ordering reagents for the laboratory; bookkeeping and keeping track of laboratory expenditures.

Preparing data for publication; proofreading manuscripts and grant applications.

General supervision and training of new personnel in laboratory.
