Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare management or closely related field. Four to six years of experience in practice management. Proven leadership and the ability to function in a professional, collaborative manner. Excellent human relations skills, independent judgment, initiative, planning capabilities, and advanced computer skills. Preferred: M.B.A./M.H.A. Working Conditions: Multiple sites location requiring local travel. Office and clinical environment. Office location is Elizabeth Place in downtown Dayton. Position Description: Maintains responsibility for the function of clinical office including finance and overall practice management. Review financial statistics, statements and effort reports and administer department accounting functions and budget preparations. Works closely with corporate reimbursement analyst in tracking of coding procedures and contract payments. Performs duties for faculty compensation determination and recommends adjustments. Recommends staffing levels within the clinical office. Provides input to the Chairman for faculty productivity and compliance. Monitors all accounts inclusive of MVH, WSU Foundation, State of Ohio, and Wright State Physicians. Serves as signatory for all fiscal and operational matters in the department. Identifies forthcoming funding sources. Established departmental policies governing all funding and grant development and manages all funds. Drafts budgets for all business activity within the department. Determines adequate staffing levels of non-physician personnel. Oversee employee evaluations and performance. Assists Chairman in accomplishing the academic mission of the department, particularly clinical teaching and research. Provides administrative oversight of extensive educational programs for medical students and residents. Works with employees on a continuous basis to train and advise. Serves as a liaison between the Chairman, WSUBSON, non-School of Medicine agencies and individuals with whom the department interacts. Prepares and presents information as needed in facilitating these interactions. Communicates with appropriate personnel to ensure open lines of communication and coordination between entities. Provides information as needed for decision making. Works closely with Wright State Physicians corporate organization in coordination with other medical departments to promote the business development of Dermatology Department and Wright State Physicians. Is an active member on Wright State Physicians organizational committees and encourages staff development. Meets regularly with the Chief Operating Officer to formulate organizational business strategy. The Chief Operation Officer provides evaluation of Director to the Department Chairperson. Assist the Chair in recruitment of new fully-affiliated and/or Wright State Physicians faculty. Provides direction and support to faculty actions of clinical faculty members. Coordinates academic space needs for the department and provides oversight for renovations. Oversees all clinical and risk management compliance programs within the department. Coordinates public relations and marketing with the School of Medicine Communications and Development departments and Wright State Physicians marketing. Oversights all aspects of special events sponsored by the department.
