Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, with preference in computer science, information systems, engineering or management; 4-7 yrs relevant professional exp, with preference in higher education; demonstrated proficiency with SQL, Access or similar data management program, data analysis and problem solving; ability to plan and perform complex, technical work; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred: Master’s degree; hand-on exp with Banner Student Module, DARS and Ad Astra scheduling system. Working Conditions: Ability to work outside normal office hours when needed Position Description: Analyze recommend and implement solutions to needed student information system (Banner) enhancements and/or business process changes to support the academic and administrative role of the Registrar's Office. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of student data as related to the systems, technology and services of the Registrar's Office ( Banner, Extender, DARS degree audit reporting system, Ad Astra scheduling system, ODS, etc.). Support HEI and other external and internal reporting as student data expert in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research. Articulate recommendations to cross-functional, student, faculty and/or executive groups to obtain consensus and implement changes by agreed upon deadlines. Collaborate with academic and administrative groups to clarify needs and recommend and implement 'best solution' for the University. Conduct Banner term set-up, end of term and other operational processes with coordination with CaTS and appropriate others in Registrar's Office ( table maintenance, term activation, term roll, academic standing notification to colleges and administrative offices, etc.). Collaborate with Associate Registrar to maintain appropriate fee assessment and refund processing for students on all campuses. Conduct review and testing of Banner upgrades and new releases before scheduled implementation (in collaboration with CaTS, Associate Registrar and other functional team leaders). Respond to college and department requests for Banner and DARS (degree audit) changes following academic policies, system and administrative protocol, and within agreed upon time frames. Serve as primary liaison with SunGard for Banner system solutions and with colleagues at other institutions using Banner to identify 'best practices' and solutions for Wright State. Serve as project leader for implementation of activities identified by consultants and university committees as institutional priorities. Serve on university technology and student systems committees as requested by University Registrar. Document procedures to support training needs of the Registrar's Office staff and others with Banner Administrative access. Develop procedures and documentation for Banner Self-Service users as necessary. Conduct routine training sessions to assure Banner users have appropriate knowledge to accurately and efficiently perform job duties. Notify appropriate groups and individuals of system enhancements and procedural changes. Provide daily problem resolution to department and college users; troubleshoot problems using tools such as SQL or Access to confirm specific issue and scope. Perform query analysis to assure data integrity and accuracy of problem resolution. Serve on University Technology and other committees as requested by University Registrar. Serve as project leader as requested by University Registrar. Represent Registrar's Office at professional meetings, conferences and other events as necessary.
