Preferred: At least 3 years of experience in student academic support services (tutoring, writing, developmental education, special programs with at-risk students), experience working with diverse student populations, and excellent written and oral communications skills; computer skills (BANNER Admin, WINGS Express, DARS, Cognos and Microsoft) and collaborative skills. Working conditions: Duties may require working special events on weekends and evenings. Position Description: Administer and manage the Student Academic Success Center, including such functions as budget management, hiring, training, supervising of all full-time and part-time SASC staff, and participating with the administrative team in the formulation and implementation of projects, policies and procedures for SASC and University College and teaching UVC 101, either individually or as a team effort. Assist Dean with the development and implementation of a plan to phase out developmental education courses over the next 5-9 years in response to the Ohio Core legislation, and work with the Assistant Dean of AATS to transition the academic advising of Developmental Education (DE) students into the AATS unit in concert with the phasing out of developmental education courses. Formulate and implement the Strategic Plan for the Student Academic Success Center. Assess the achievement of students' academic success and retention goals, subsequent to students' performance in college level courses and respond appropriately to findings. Work closely with the Associate and Assistant Deans to research, develop and write grants and proposals for internal and external funding. Work collaboratively with all units in University College and with other offices on campus to insure most effective use of resources and personnel and complete other duties as assigned.
