Research Scientist

Full-time/Part-time Status:   100% FTE

Salary Minimum:  4,500/mo

Pay Grade: S07

Education and Experience:   Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience dealing with geospatially based ecological modeling, particularly with regard to habitat trading. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: fisheries and wildlife biology, ecology, geographical information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and/or habitat assessments. Working knowledge of GIS and remote sensing. Must have excellent funding potential.

Preferred: Environmental Consulting Experience. Evidence of international collaborations. Experience with aquatic, terrestrial and wildlife research.

Note: Length of appointment: Six months, extramural funding required for extension. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply. 


Position Description:  

Research project management. Developing an extramurally funded research program, managing grants and contracts fro which they are principal investigator or Co-PI. Interacting with faculty and students in the Environmental Sciences Ph.D. Program (with some student supervision).

Publication of findings in the peer-reviewed literature. Proposal writing and submission.

Student advising.
