Position Number: 08C089 Department: Office of Financial Aid Full-time/Part-time Status: 100% FTE Pay Rate: $11.35/hr. Closing Date: May 20, 2008 Position Summary: To advise and inform students, parents, and the University Community about federal, state, and institutional financial aid and scholarship opportunities at Wright State University. Education/Experience: Associate’s degree and 2 years of full time related work experience OR a high school diploma and 3 years of full time related work experience; excellent verbal/communication skills; ability to calculate basic math; working knowledge and skills to utilize current office equipment and a variety of complex software packages required. Demonstrated skills/knowledge of additional software may also be required. WSU Testing/Examinations Required: Business Math, Word Standard Position Description: Uses accepted practices and independent judgment while advising and informing students, parents, faculty and staff, and the general public about the federal, state, local and institutional financial aid programs. Provide accurate and complete information to these populations as a result of keeping abreast of all the latest guidelines governing these programs. Refer students to various Wright State departments to assist with the completion of the enrollment process. Assist students and parents with the completion of the acceptance of their financial aid award. While helping them navigate the WSU Wings Express online process system, provide accurate information to students and parents regarding the scholarships application process in addition to referring them to the various scholarship search sites. Maintain a working knowledge of the Federal Pell Grant, Perkins Loan, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Academic Competitiveness Grant, Smart Grant, Subsidized Stafford Loan, Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, Parent Loan, College Work-Study, and Ohio College Opportunity Grant Programs. Answer phone calls and questions received from students and parents regarding their financial aid awards. Schedule appointments for the Director, two Associate Directors, and nine Assistant Directors of Financial Aid. Respond to e-mail inquiries from student and parents providing accurate answers to their financial aid questions. Process release of information requests to various state and local agencies. Maintain inventory control of all office publications and reorder as needed. Other duties as assigned.
