Web Browser ActiveX and Java Settings |
PLEASE READ: If you are unable to log-in
to the Student Web, please read the following
carefully and follow the steps provided. Your
Internet Explorer Web browser settings must
have both ActiveX and Java enabled in order
to view the Student Web.
|

|
In your Internet Explorer Web browser,
click on Tools and then the Internet Options...
option. This will open up the Internet Options
dialog box (which controls all of your Internet
Explorer Web browser settings).
|

|
In the Internet Options dialog box, click
on the Security tab at the top, which is the
second tab from the left. (The default tab
that is displayed when opening the Internet
Options dialog box is the General tab.)
|

|
At the bottom of the Security tab of the
Internet Options dialog box, you will see
a button that reads Custom Level... Click
this button, as it will take you to the Security
Settings dialog box.
|
 |
In the Security Settings dialog box, you
will see a series of options with radio buttons
next to them. Please carefully scroll down
through all of these options, and make sure
that ALL are enabled BUT the Pop-Up Blocker
option .
|

|
This graphic illustrates that the Pop-Up
Blocker option should be disabled .
Please Note: this should be the only option
under the Security Settings dialog box that
is disabled. The Student Web uses pop-up windows
in order to display helpful, important information
regarding its functionality, therefore the
pop-up blocker should be disabled.
CAUTION: If you have any other pop-up blockers
in use (ie. Yahoo!, Google, etc.), please
disable those as they will also interfere
with the functionality of the Student Web.
Click OK when you are finished.
|

|
Next, in the Internet Options dialog box,
click the Advanced tab, which is the last
tab on the right-hand side of the dialog box.
Scroll down until you see a coffee cup icon
that has the words Java (Sun) written beside
it. Please make sure the box underneath this
option is checked (enabled) . The Student
Web uses Java technology and will not work
properly if Java is not enabled and/or installed.
Please Note: If you cannot see the coffee
cup icon with the words Java (Sun) written
beside it, you do not have Java installed
on your computer. Please click here
to visit the java.com Web site for a
free Java software download. (http://java.com/en/)
To save your settings and to exit out of the
Internet Options dialog box, click the OK
button.
Please Note : You may need to close your browser
window and open a new one in order for the
new settings to take effect. |
