To SQUAT means that you can still
have the room you are in now for the following
school year.
If your current roommate(s) do not SQUAT their
space for next year, and you want to bring in
a friend to live with you they would be an EXTENDED
SQUATTER.

Squatters & Extended Squatters Instructions
Here are instructions and tips to help you through
the squatting process and to make things go smoothly.
It is very important to follow the steps described
below.
- All Squatters & Extended Squatters must
have a Lottery number.
- If you want someone to live with you next
year in your room, all requests must be mutual.
- All Extended Squatter assignments are pending
until open spaces are verified.
- If you Squat or Extend Squat, you will not
be eligible to participate in selecting a different
room or apartment on Lottery Day.
- If you Squat or Extend Squat in The
Village, you will be receiving a contract
in the mail that must be signed and returned
to The Office of Residence Services, for your
assignment to be finalized.
- All requests for The
Village are pending until your signed contract
is returned.
- You will need to keep a copy of your Squatter
confirmation page to verify accuracy of your
request.
- Any discrepancies will be verified with your
confirmation page.
