President's
Award for Excellence
In 1998, the Office of Residence Services (ORS),
received the Collaborative Units Award along with
Computing and Telecommunications Services (CaTS)
for the ResNet project. This six-month project
involved the installation of campus network and
Internet connectivity in every room in the campus
residence. This involved the installation
of over 2200 locations. All students now
living in campus housing now can connect their
personal computers to the Internet and gain access
to electronic mail, www browsing and much more.
In 2003, the Office of Residence Services (ORS),
received yet another President's Award for Collaborative
Units along with many other departments listed
on the award involved with Student Affairs. This
award was presented for the collaborative effort
given in the construction and opening of the Union
Market located in the Student Union. This was
a two year project that involved shutting down
a part of the Student Union an entire school year
for the renovations. Now students have access
to a cafeteria style dining along with the Cyber
Cafe and the Wright Cup coffee stand.
Residence Services is proud of all of its employees
and continues to strive to work with all groups
on campus to enhance the educational experience
for Wright State students. |
