WHAT
IS SUSTAINABILITY?
Sustainability
can be defined as "meeting the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations
to meet their own needs." Increasing awareness
of climate change and the possible threats that
it poses have sparked public interest in sustainable
development and practices.
In practical terms, sustainability is a mindset
and a
way of life that reduces
negative impacts on the environment .
There are many ways to practice sustainability
as a student at WSU!

WHY
SAVE ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT?
Saving
energy saves money! Reducing energy consumption
will reduce energy expenses in housing and on
the campus as a whole, and could help contain
some costs increases of attending WSU. Saving
energy means reducing carbon dioxide emissions,
pollution, and reducing our impact on climate
change. It means cleaner air and water for us
and for future generations!
