Lara Donnelly, a senior honors student who is majoring in English and minoring in women’s studies, has been accepted into the Summer 2012 Clarion Writers' Workshop at the University of California, San Diego. Donnelly was one of 18 students selected from hundreds of applicants. She will attend the seven-week science fiction and fantasy workshop with writers hailing from the United States, South Africa, Ukraine, and Great Britain. Established in 1968, the Clarion Writers' Workshop is the oldest workshop of its kind and is widely recognized as a premier proving and training ground for aspiring writers of fantasy and science fiction.
