Going to Italy was a life-changing experience. We were able to learn so much more about the history, art, architecture, and culture than we ever would by just sitting in a classroom. Discussing Roman history while standing in the Roman Forum was amazing.

Honors classes are very different. There are so many facets of each topic to explore that they appeal to all majors. The classes are smaller, so you have more opportunities to participate and you really get to know your professors and classmates. The professors take a more creative approach. They want us to think differently and apply those topics to the real world.

I‘ve loved living in Honors for the last three years. We take pride in community events like movie nights and Super Bowl parties. The Bridge Café is a fun place to hang out with friends. Plus, it’s great to live with others who share the same goals and classes.

During my freshman year, my honors biology recitation visited the Dayton Community Blood Center and Tissue Services. We learned about why blood and tissue donations are important and how to become a donor. Then we volunteered by helping them assemble information kits. It was a rewarding experience to make a difference in the lives of others.
