Certification

Undergraduate and graduate students who are pursing certification, also referred to as licensure or endorsement, may be eligible to receive financial aid from the following sources:


Federal Student Aid Programs

To apply for financial aid from the Federal government, applicants must meet eligibility requirements as outlined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The student must complete the FAFSA to apply for all forms of federal student aid at WSU and be admitted as a degree-seeking student in a financial aid eligible program of study.

Employment

Federal Work Study is a form of employment from the federal student aid programs.

Federal Student Loans

A student loan is a form of aid that must be repaid by the borrower. It can be based on financial need and/or restricted to a select population. Federal loans available to certification students include:

A student loan for parents is a form of aid that must be repaid by the parent borrower. Federal loans available to parents of certification students include:

*Student must be an undergraduate, deemed a "dependent" student on the FAFSA and parent applicant must meet federal credit requirements to be eligible to apply.

State Aid Programs

Certification students at the graduate level can apply for State of Ohio fellowships.

State Fellowships

A fellowship, like a scholarship, is a form of gift aid that does not have to be repaid. It is often merit based and/or restricted to a select population. Eligible graduate students may apply for the Regents Graduate/Professional Fellowship Program.

Wright State University Aid Programs

Eligible certification students can apply for WSU graduate assistantships, tuition scholarships, fellowships, stipends, and tuition remissions.

WSU Graduate Assistantships, Tuition Scholarships, Fellowships, and Stipends

Graduate assistantships, tuition scholarships, fellowships and stipends are forms of gift aid that do not need to be repaid. The award may require the student to serve in an employment-like capacity for the awarding department or college in order to be eligible and maintain eligibility. Terms and Conditions for graduate assistantships, tuition scholarships, fellowships and stipends can be obtained from the School of Graduate Studies' Policies and Procedures Manual. Graduate students are encouraged to contact the chair of their program of study for information about graduate assistantships, scholarships, fellowships and stipends.

Tuition Remission

A tuition remission is a form of gift aid that does not need to be repaid. It is typically awarded to an employee or dependent of an employee as a benefit for services rendered at WSU.
