Students are assessed fees for tuition, on campus housing, and the majority of other costs on a quarterly basis. Most of these quarterly charges appear on students' billing statements. Students can view their account charges and make payments online via WINGS Express. To estimate your costs, add your anticipated charges from below, and then subtract your accepted financial aid awards on your Award Notice. You can estimate costs by quarter or for the entire year.

Tuition and Fees

Costs for tuition and fees are typically determined each June prior to the start of the Fall Quarter. For undergraduate and graduate students, WSU's fee assessment policy for tuition and fees is based upon the student's cohort billing rate. To determine your cohort billing rate, see WSU's Fee Assessment Policies for new and continuing students.

For more information on WSU's refund policy for tuition and fees, see WSU's Official University Refund Policy.

Books and Supplies

Costs for books and supplies will be based upon your registered courses each quarter. Charges for books and supplies do not appear on your student account. Instead, books and supplies must be purchased out-of-pocket. Often students will credit monies to their Wright1 Card to purchase books at the WSU Bookstore, and the charge to the Wright1 Card appears on the student's account. Contact the Office of the Bursar for more information about crediting monies on your Wright1 Card for books.

On Campus Housing

WSU has a number of campus communities with various room types. See WSU's Office of Residence Services website for on campus housing options and housing rates. Note some housing costs include meal plans (board). Pay close attention to application deadline dates and cancellation and refund policies.

Meal Plans (Board)

Several on campus housing options include a meal plan (board). Regardless, all students have the option to purchase a meal plan. See WSU's Dining Services website for more information.

Parking Permits

See WSU's Office of Parking and Transportation's website for information on WSU parking permits. Students can purchase parking permits online.

Other Costs

Students are assessed fees for the following services at the time of registration each quarter.

Student Health Insurance

Student Legal Services

If you do not wish to purchase the above mentioned services, you can “opt out” during registration. If you have any difficulty or questions regarding waiving these services, contact the Office of the Bursar. There are deadlines to opt out of the purchase of these services and to remove the fees from your bill.

Costs for Professional Students

See WSU's Boonshoft School of Medicine and WSU's School of Professional Psychology for more information about professional school costs.

Paying Your Bill

Students can make fee payments online via WINGS Express. For more information on fee payment and fee payment options, see WSU's Office of the Bursar website. Financial Aid is credited towards student fees and applied to the student account provided they have completed the application process and any additional financial aid requirements and are eligible for disbursement. Students must authorize federal aid to pay for miscellaneous non-institutional charges and minor past year charges via WINGS Express.
