Federal Student Aid (FSA) Programs

Undergraduate students who meet the U.S. Department of Education's eligibility requirements can apply for grants, employment, and loans from the federal government. To apply, students must complete--on an annual basis--the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and list Wright State University as a school of choice (WSU's Title IV school code is 003078). The results of the student's FAFSA, along with the Wright State University's cost of attendance, will determine the student's eligibility for all of the FSA Programs listed below. The FSA Programs available to undergraduate students include:

Federal Pell Grant

Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant

Federal SMART Grant

Federal Stafford Loans
Federal PLUS Loan

In addition to the FSA Programs above, students who submit their FAFSA by Wright State University's FAFSA priority deadline date of February 15th--prior to the start of upcoming academic year--will be considered for the FSA Campus-Based Programs. (For example, students applying for federal student aid for the 2006-2007 aid year must file the FAFSA by February 15, 2006 to be considered for the FSA Campus-Based Programs.) The priority deadline exists due to limited funding in the following programs:

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
Federal Work-Study Program
Federal Perkins Loan
Federal Nursing Student Loan

State Aid Programs

Undergraduate students can also apply for grants, scholarships, and loans from the State of Ohio. Financial aid available to undergraduate students from the State of Ohio include:

  Ohio College Opportunity Grant
  Ohio Instructional Grant
  Ohio Academic Scholarship
  Ohio War Orphans Scholarship
Ohio Safety Officers College Memorial Fund
  Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship
Nurse Educational Assistance Loan Program [Applications available from the College of Nursing and Health, (937) 775-3132.]
